Hot off the press!

SignMyPad and SignMyPad for the Android OS have been updated. A small update but a big one none the less.
In this Android update, we have finally updated to support Android 4.X – Ice Cream Sandwich. We know this is a bit late, and we apologize!
Also updated is the Dropbox api – fixing that nasty issue where the “token” wasn’t working.

We hope you enjoy the new version. Both are available at the Google Play store.

Happy Earth Day everyone!

We at Autriv Software Development love Earth Day. Todays the day where you say “NO!” to wasting paper. It was because of Earth Day we thought of SignMyPad – our PDF signature solution for the iOS and Android.

So why should you say “NO!” to paper? Well as of 2011 each of us on average uses 750 pounds of paper a year! That’s a lot of paper. So how do you cut down? Well, email has helped but people still send contracts or documents that need signatures. Using SignMyPad has shown that you can stop wasting so much paper. Most users have replaced the method of printing, signing, scanning, and then throwing away the original print with using SignMyPad. Watch this video to see exactly how SignMyPad can replace this method and how you can save so many trees by not wasting paper:

First we are neck deep in new versions. We are hard at work on SignMyPad 5 for the iPad. We have been rewriting the entire application from the ground up. Very little code was used from the older versions, as we really wanted to maximum the efficiency of the app. We are working on adding some great new features and tools. For example, SignMyPad 5 will now sync via iCloud to your iPhone version of SignMyPad. Work on one device, save it to iCloud and pick it up on your phone! How cool is that!!!

That’s just one of many new things we are working on. We can’t let all the secrets out – but rest assure everyone will be very happy with the new release.

Now we all know the 2 biggest issues were Dropbox syncing, which sometimes made the app crash, and Signatures disappearing. We have fixed both of these issues.

First the Dropbox issue – Dropbox checks it’s link to SignMyPad when the app launches. Users sometimes would unlink SignMyPad from the Dropbox website, and SignMyPad would not launch after that. That issue has been rectified. When SignMyPad opens, if you unlink Dropbox you will be prompted to relink. This keeps the app from crashing. We have also updated the Dropbox api so files that have a “.” in the file name, i.e. Some.File.pdf will show. Before this update it would be hidden.

Second – the Signatures. While we can save your actual signatures, since they are stored on your iPad we have added a “Restore Saved Signatures” button. This button will restore the signature SPOTS. You will still have to resave your signature in the space. This will keep from you being recharged by the iTunes store for the same item.

And for clarification because sometimes the support line still gets questions about this. You do NOT need to pay for signatures. You can place as many signatures on a PDF as you would like. The only thing you are paying extra for is the ability to save signatures for easy retrieval. Hope this clarifies things for everyone.

This will be the last release of SignMyPad 4 and SignMyPad Pro 2. We have put these versions to bed with this update to start working on a brand new look. We have listened to our users and will be implementing a lot of new designs, and features in the next version of SignMyPad and SignMyPad Pro. Look for these new version after the new year.
